"My dad's flu vaccination"

About: Udston Hospital

(as a carer),

I attended Udston hospital with my dad for his flu vaccination in October 2020. My dad has significant issues with his mobility and was required to walk to the Douglas ward from the main entrance. This was a struggle but we managed.

However, I can't thank the staff enough, particularly a nurse called Emma who recognised my concern and the level of restriction my dad presented with. She was able to get us a wheelchair to get him back to the car. I would like to thank the staff at Udston immunisation team for the brief but considered care they gave father. Perhaps wheelchairs could be put at the entrance for others who have mobility problems

Dear Mcquade365.

Thank you for sharing your story in relation to your dad's flu vaccination at Udston.

I welcome your feedback regards the availability of wheelchairs at the entrance and I will liaise with my colleagues to ensure this is in place.

I am pleased to hear that you feel the staff, in particularly Emma, were very accommodating and provided the care that your dad required. I will pass your thanks on to Emma and the staff.

Kind regards,

Stewart
