On the two occasions my pregnant wife needed to attend the maternity/ gynae unit for an urgent assessment, she was left alone for over 3hours with no one checking up on her. How a unit comprising of supposedly trained healthcare professionals can leave a pregnant woman in pain, starving and thirsty without even offering her a glass of water on more then one occasion is completely bewildering.
