Having both had minimal dealings with the NHS through our lives, In October 2019 my husband had day surgery at QEQM for a bilateral hernia. He had never been in hospital before and had never had a general anaesthetic. Despite his nerves his whole experience was nothing but positive. 2 weeks later, I sustained a fractured elbow in a road accident in and was taken by ambulance to the QEQM hospital. The ambulance service was first class and I was not kept waiting very long at all in A&E before being triaged and going to Xray. The nurse who dealt with my x-ray results was kind and the service was very efficient. I returned the next day for surgery to my elbow. The whole experience was faultless and professional and the hospital has a very friendly feel to it which is reassuring. I have been having ongoing Fracture clinic appointments as well as physiotherapy, MRI and further x-rays at the Kent & Canterbury hospital. I have had nothing but a positive experience with my dealings with staff at both hospitals even since covid has occurred. Whilst covid did naturally delay my ongoing treatment, the admin/appointments staff and secretarial staff have provided a first class, helpful and friendly service and are a real credit to the organisation at a time that must have been very difficult for all. At times they have really gone above and beyond. Both my husband and I have to say that the service we have received to date from the service has exceeded our expectations.
"Thank you!"
