Hi, I recently spent five days in Avon Ward at RD& E after suffering a minor heart attack. I was told I would have an angiogram and if needed, be fitted with stents, depending on the extent of any damage caused by the attack.
My experience there was all positive from day one. The staff in the AMU and later in Avon ward were exceptional. I felt comfortable, assured and most importantly, cared for and cared about during my stay in hospital. these people are a credit to their county, hospital and their profession.
Unfortunately for me, during this pandemic, all the staff were hidden behind face coverings for my whole stay and as a result, I wouldn't even know what they look like outside of the hospital to thank them personally if I was to meet any of them in the street.
Please pass this message of gratitude on to all the staff that cared for me as I know people can be very quick to be very negative towards the NHS when things go wrong but never think to praise them when things go well, like it did for me.
Once again, thank you from the bottom of my beautifully repaired heart.
