About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / General surgery

(as the patient),

I went into Wynard ward for a day case procedure.... I was very anxious, upset and felt alone due to covid restrictions of only being able to go in on you’re own! I couldn’t fault the care of any of the staff from entering the ward to leaving the hospital, nurses, theatre assistant and the surgeon. The anaesthetist and his assistants were exceptional when I entered the anaesthetic room which I was very much panicked Upon entering, he was distracting me but telling me jokes and I was soon asleep.Upon waking up in the recovery room a lovely lady was by my bedside, and another male staff member did his best to make us laugh during our time in recovery and when taking me back down to the ward, such lovely caring staff who go above and beyond to make you’re time on the hospital as pleasant and comfortable as possible! Although I had no family with me, the hospital made sure that in this current pandemic each and every one of us does not go through they’re stay alone! So thank you to all Wynard ward. You’re all ace and amazing at you’re jobs ❤️
