"MRI Wonderful Staff"

About: Royal Preston Hospital

I had an MRI last night. I was terrified and really worried about it before I went in.

Needn't have worried at all. The service was smooth and quick and very efficient. The staff were so lovely and approachable and really put me at ease immediately.

The radiographer kept talking to me and I felt very safe and secure.

My only criticism, NOT with the MRI staff but the hospital in General. People were not observing the "Stay on the Left" rule and there was no visible staff on the corridors monitoring this. People without masks and no lanyards to say why. I felt very uneasy about this. The stairs had to be accessed by through doors with big steel handles that I had observed a member of the public without a mask on using and then I had to use it. I think like Blackpool Victoria Hospital, you should have people on the corridors to monitor this. I was advised to attend alone, and although I was frightened, I did. My husband sat in the car outside. When I got to MRI there was a waiting room with families and partners in and children running around. Surely they should have been challenged at the entrance.

Please don't let this take away any of my praise for the wonderful Neurology team and MRI staff, who without I would have been unable to relax and have my MRI.
