"Difficulty getting appointments "

About: Swallownest Health Centre

We all know about the difficulty with Covid, but the government keeps saying the health service is open as normal. I can not book appointments on line and trying to book by phone is impossible the phone just keeps ringing. The practice could have separate days for Covid and none Covid cases. Patients will die of other issues because you can’t get an appointment

Thank you for your comment. The practice is open as normal, however appointments with clinicians are available by telephone in the first instance, with the clinician asking patients to attend only if they need to. Nurse and HCA appointments are available face to face, however we have been experiencing our own staff sickness aswell as isolations which has reduced the number available, inspite of staff undertaking overtime to help. I have asked for additional appointments to be be made available online. We are also increasing the number of telephone lines next week to cope with the current demand. Weekend appointments are also available with local clinicians via the Rotherham Health App online. You can sign up to this easily by following the link here or copying and pasting it into your browser. https://rotherhamhealthapp.com/splash We do not see Covid patients within the practice, the changes we have created are to reduce footfall to ensure social distancing is maintained.
