"Colonoscopy biopsies"

About: General practices in Lanarkshire Golden Jubilee National Hospital University Hospital Monklands / Gastroenterology (Ward 10)

(as the patient),

I had a colonoscopy and biopsies taken 4 weeks ago. I was told to contact my surgery if I hadn't heard anything after a week. After a week and a few days I hadn't heard anything and when I contacted my surgery I was told that it would be the consultant that would be contacting me. After another 2 weeks of hearing nothing I contacted the Golden jubilee where the procedure was carried out and they said it would be the referring hospital that I would need to speak to. I assumed this was where I had my cover test so I called and got put through to an answering machine in the department. I left a message for a call back but after 2 days I still didn't get a reply. I called again and this time got to speak to someone. They told me that I was actually referred by the department at Monklands hospital. I then called and got put through to the department. I was told that the receptionist wasn't around but they asked to take my name and number which I gave them. After 2 days I still didn't get a return call so I called again and got an answering machine. I again left a message and again I still have no response. This is now 4 weeks from the procedure and 3 weeks of trying to get someone to give me results and a course of action. This is very poor service.
