"They are always there for me"

About: Highbury Hospital / Redwood Ward 2 (Female)

(as a service user),

When I first got to Redwood 2 I felt alone and unsupported for the first 2 months. Eventually I got a 1:1 with Nurse Sue and she helped me to be able to ask my consultant what I need (mood stabiliser).

Also Nurse Morrigan was really supportive and helped me through some trauma stuff. She has helped me write two letters which have been really useful. Sue and Morrigan are always there for me and understand me. I am very grateful.

I have come a long way since I came to Redwood 2 from self harming severely, regularly, to being 3 weeks + self harm free. I couldn't have done it without Morrigan's support. I am so glad the staff took the glass and razor blades from me because now I am almost 2 months cut-free.

Hi Travellercz54,

Thank you so much for taking the time to post about your experience on Redwood 2. It’s wonderful that you are feeling stronger and to be almost 2 months cut free and 3 weeks self-harm free just shows how hard you must have worked with Sue and Morrigan, you must be thrilled and should be very proud.

I'm sure you have told Sue and Morrigan how grateful you are as it sounds like you have a great relationship but it’s so nice of you to share it with others. I will make sure your post is shared with the ward team, especially Sue and Morrigan. I hope your story also inspires others who are struggling with self-harm.

Best wishes on your continued recovery journey

Kind Regards

Jo Horsley
