"Poor experience "

About: Gudgeheath Lane Surgery

I came in for an appointment at a time when the surgery was not busy and was seated for almost an hour even though I was told that they checked me in and would grab me shortly. It’s as if they forgot I was there and when I went to enquire, I was given no apology or explanation at all. It was very inconsiderate and although it may have been an honest mistake, it doesn’t excuse apathetic and impolite behaviour.

It was the responsibility of the staff to check me in as there is no check-in machine (understandably, due to Covid) and I also take value of my team.

Overall, the receptionist staff felt hostile and unhelpful with a severe lack of communication and no manner of apology. Very rude. However, I must say that the nurse/GP who finally attended to me were much more friendly and welcoming although I wasn’t communicated with much there as well (in regards to walking me through what certain tests are for and what’s going on).

I am very sorry to hear of your bad experience and the lack of communication from the reception team. I believe the GP you were seeing was taking an emergency phone call but this should have been communicate to you. I will take on board your comment and feed this back to the staff. Thank you for taking the time to let us know.
