My daughter was born in August at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, the Midwifery team and paediatrics were concerned about the appearance of her upper gum at the front. On the day we left hospital they told me they would refer to the cleft team in Glasgow for advice, who would be in contact. At FVRH, they told me they were not overly concerned about the gum and I assumed it would be some time before we heard from the Glasgow team.
The following day I was contacted by the Cleft Palate Nurse who asked to send photographs of her gum and the roof of her mouth, which I did.The team replied within hours to reassure us that there was no cleft palate and no need for their involvement. Everyone in the team was prompt, informative and so helpful. The whole process took less than 24 hours and from our own home.I could not have been more impressed with the service they provided.
