"Venesection - Genetic Haemochromatosis"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Day Medicine

(as the patient),

I was diagnosed in January 2020 with GH  -  I had no idea that all the niggles and complaints over the last 30 years had a cause.  Venesection started today.  The Day Medicine Unit from the front door to the finish with a bag of blood was super smooth and reassuring.  Cathy was brilliant.  The Vampire needle went in without an "ouch"  first go.  Clear and helpful advice from Cathy...then " All done"  Done in a flash.  Then a Tunnock's Tea Cake - next appointment all arranged - no worries.  Cathy is ace.

Thank you!

Its always lovely for us to know that we make your trip to hospital as painless and relaxed as possible.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your positive experience.

P.S. Don't tell anyone about the Tunnocks Tea Cakes......

kind regards
