I came in this morning to be seen following extreme throat pain. I am not normally unwell and have not needed to visit the doctor in over 2 years, so it mustve been pretty bad for me to need urgent treatment. I was told to go to the urgent treatment centre and a doctor would see me.
The young doctor who saw me was rude and cold. She questioned why I was there without letting me finish my sentences, put words into my mouth (e.g. "you're not unwell" - if I was well, why would I even be there?!)
The icing on the cake was when she said (quote on quote) "Well you're not dying so why are you here?"
How are people allowed to get away with this sort of patient treatment? I left extremely upset, untreated and resorted to my own remedies for getting better, in the hope that they won't worsen my state. Disappointing considering I've always thought so highly of the NHS.
"Rude and off-putting member of staff"
