"Rude reception staff"

Let me preface this by stating clearly that Dean Street is an exceptional clinic that sets global standards in sexual health care. It is truly a remarkable service that I appreciate to a degree I cannot express. However...

I received a positive test result on a standard screening and was sent a text message with a link to book an appointment for treatment at Dean Street Express

I clicked the link, followed whatever on-screen instructions appeared and ended up with an appointment at 56 Dean Street. As this is where I had received a treatment previously, I didn't think anything of it.

On turning up for my appointment, the receptionist stared at me and said very abruptly that I had booked an appointment at the wrong clinic and that no appointments were available at DSE for another two days, as if I had intentionally booked an appointment at the wrong clinic - as if (a) I care where I get treatment as long as I get it and (b) I or anyone else would deliberately pick the wrong clinic.

I pointed out that I had merely clicked the link and followed what had appeared on screen, so he begrudgingly said that he would ask a nurse to see me but did not guarantee treatment and also warned me that if I "did it again" I would be refused treatment. I was furious.

Getting treated for an STD is stressful enough for most people without being treated so disdainfully by a supposed health professional.

You need to have a serious word with that receptionist, and any others who cop an attitude like that with an unsuspecting member of the public in a delicate situation, and explain that it is unprofessional, unnecessary and upsetting, as well as downright rude.

You also need to sort out your booking system so innocent mistakes like this cannot be made. If I am treated like that again I will make a.complaint on the spot.
