I had been referred by my optician to go to hospital for some tests and scans, as I am at high risk of going blind and may have tears in my retina. This referral had to go through Woodbridge, my GP. I was told i'd be contacted by letter to let me know if or when I had been accepted for tests.
Having received nothing for a month and a half, I called Woodbridge only to find that 3 weeks ago they had a response from the hospital, saying they wouldn't see me for tests at the moment due to Covid and the fact that my optician did quite detailed scans already. However I wasn't informed of this at all and neither was my optician. I was waiting at home to be told if I was going to have scans that would potentially determine if I was going to have severe sight loss and I wasn't notified at all.
Only a few weeks later I had a phone appointment, not at the scheduled time, where the doctor hadn't been shown photos that I'd been told to email in, and I'd been assured he'd be shown these. He then contacted me to re-send the photos using a special online service. What's going on??
Do the receptionists pass on information? If you have an important operation don't use this surgery, you'll never get your appointment unless you keep ringing up to ask.
"Terrible communication"
