"So much easier for me"

About: South Tyrone Hospital / Day Clinical Centre

(as a service user),

Having my Venel Section Done in South Tyrone Hospital is so much easier for me to attend. I just live 7 miles from Hospital. The staff are so accommodating and really go out of their way to make me feel comfortable and at ease. I feel really safe going to B floor as it is so spacious and the social distancing is so much easier.

When I had to have venel section a few years ago, I had to travel to Craigavon Hospital which took me a lot longer to get there because of the distance and traffic.

I hope that I can continue to have my venel section done at South Tyrone Hospital and with such lovely friendly Staff

Thankyou very much Authentickj87 for your very positive comments regarding your attendance at the Day Clinical Centre (DCC) which had to move very quickly in March from Craigavon, off site to South Tyrone Hospital, due to the unexpected emergence of Covid 19.

Both staff and patients, especially people like yourselves who will regularly come to us for on-going care, moved within 24 hours and both had to make adjustments to this immediate change. I am happy I have the opportunity to thankyou and your fellow patients for adapting to these must-do arrangements so that all our clients could continue receiving their treatment. Fortunately this meant thus shorter travel times for some patients such as yourself while others unfortunately have had to travel further for their treatment.

On the whole everyone has been very accommodating in order to protect our often very vulnerable patients from this indiscriminate pandemic and I, like you, am very relieved that we have been able to ensure adequate social distancing for our patients in these very comfortable and spacious surroundings. We have worked hard to reduce the fear of coming into hospital for your treatments and I am very satisfied as the Manager of this Service, to hear that we have made your visit so far as safe and risk-free as is possible. I thank you and others for supporting us in this change and bearing with us through the many moves we have had to ask you to make. It is reassuring to know in spite of the upheaval you are happy and that the DCC staff continue to make you feel so |"comfortable and at ease".

I look forward to sharing these comments with my Team and thank you again for making the effort to post your thoughts.
