"Outstanding NHS"

About: Hindon Surgery

My wife went to Hindon surgery in early July and was referred to Salisbury District Hospital where she saw a consultant 2 weeks later and had a biopsy. She underwent a lumpectomy in early August and has since seen a consultant oncologist She will have a course of radiotherapy in due course. From GP, hospital, surgery and oncologist the service, care and treatment have been outstanding as has the clarity of explanation throughout. Thank you NHS.

Thank you for these comments.

We work closely with Salisbury and other hospitals and during these difficult times since March their response to referrals for possible cancers has been outstanding. It was always good but they have made changes to make the experience as safe and fast for the patient as possible. Despite media comments about general practice and hospitals being 'closed' this has been far from true. We have all had to work very differently and much more has been done with remote consultations but it is reassuring that for possible cancers our patients have the confidence to consult us and go to the hospital knowing they will be well looked after and kept safe from Covid19.

We want every patient who has symptoms that worry them to contact us and not delay because they think we are unsafe or very busy. We are operating a 'cold' surgery with all the infection control measures to keep you safe and are never too busy to consult quickly about symptoms you feel may be due to a serious disease.

We wish your wife a speedy recovery and will try to do as well for everyone else.
