My mother was taken to A&E where a bowel obstruction was found and she found the Doctors, Nurses and Porters to be very friendly and kind.
From A&E she was transferred to Cedar Ward.
While in Cedar ward my mother was found to have bowel cancer which came as a huge shock as there were no warning signs.
Everyone she came into contact with gave her the best treatment possible. The Nurses were kind, not only to my mother but to family members keeping us informed, they also took time where possible to chat to her and just made her feel really comfortable during a difficult and scary time. A lovely O.T from Cork, the Palliative Care team and carers all treated her really well and with respect. The lady who brought the food around made the best tea. The Doctors were good, the Porters who took her for tests were kind and gentle in their manner.
Sadly my mother never made it home as she caught an infection and during the night I stayed over, the Nurse's also checked to see if I needed anything. They were kindness itself and I am grateful that my mother spent her final days with such lovely caring people, and in a spotlessly clean ward, well done to the cleaners.
I hope they like the cake I sent.
