"My mum"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres

(as a service user),

My mum died on 22/09/20 at 5.15 am. The staff at Hairmyers Hospital Resus department and the staff in ward 3 were so compassionate and understanding and they were so helpful. My mum lingered for 18/19 hours and all the staff that we dealt with over this difficult time couldn’t do enough to help us and we greatly appreciate it. The staff on nightshift were so patient and gentle with our mum and with us. We felt they treated her as though she were their mum too and I just wanted to thank them for all their help. I’m not sure if you are able to pass this on to the staff/hospital but if you can we would really appreciate it. Wonderful staff at Hairmyers Hospital. Thank you all once again.

Dear Sholley

Firstly I'd like to thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience with us and offer my condolences regarding your recent loss. I appreciate that this must be a very difficult time for you and I am so pleased to hear that staff showed both compassion and understanding towards you and your mum. I will most definitely share your praise with staff in both our Emergency Department and in ward 3. We strive to deliver Person Centred Care for all our patients at all times and it is an honour for us to have been part of your mum's journey.

Take Care

Carol
