"Credit to the NHS"

About: South Tyrone Hospital / Day Clinical Centre

(as a service user),

I attend the Day Hospital for 8 weekly Biologic infusion. I am delighted with my treatment. I was shielding throughout lockdown and I felt very safe attending the clinic .Staff adhere to infection control procedures to a high standard.  I hope that the clinic remains at South Tyrone Hospital in the longer term. It is a much bigger ward and it is easier to maintain social distancing. This will help to ensure that I and other clinically vulnerable service users are protected from Coronavirus as much as possible.

A big thank you to all the staff. They are a credit to the NHS.

Thankyou so much Sabrina for posting your very generous comments about your experience attending our Day Clinical Centre in South Tyrone Hospital. It is very reassuring to know you have felt "protected from Coronavirus" while receiving your treatment with us as we have indeed strived to make you feel safe as you did to come out of shielding for it.

I will be delighted to let the team know that their adherence to infection control measures are, in your opinion, of a very high standard. We do make every effort we can to maintain appropriate social distancing and I agree with you that the spacious bay you were in lends itself to this purpose.

I am very proud to hear the DCC staff described as a "Credit to the NHS" in such a difficult climate for both patients attending hospital for treatment and all our Health Care colleagues coming during these very worrying times.

Once again thanks for taking the time to share these very thoughtful words which go a long way in encouraging staff to continue to do their best during this Pandemic.
