I arrived at Lancaster in great pain on a Saturday night with a badly smashed elbow - multiple fractures and dislocation - after a mountain bike accident. The accident happened only a week before I was due to move to Oxford, to take up a new job. I cannot praise the care I received highly enough. The nurses did everything possible to make me comfortable. The atmosphere in the Acute Surgical Unit was warm, down-to-earth and reassuring. Within 48 hours I had been operated on by an expert upper limb surgeon, who did a superb job. Only four weeks later, I have an arm full of metal and an interesting scar, but almost a full range of motion. The hospital in Oxford was full of praise for the beautiful repair job.
Thank you so much.
"Superb treatment, and outstanding nursing care"
