"Cathy deserves an award in my eyes."

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Day Medicine

(as a service user),

I currently go for venesections as I have Genetic hemochromatosis .I was first diagnosed 2 years ago .

To get an appointment to have this done proved very difficult sometimes would wait up to three months to have this done as the booking system didn't work, because of this my ferritin levels never moved they were always between 500/700.

Then Cathy set up a new clinic for these procedures  and I was seen every two weeks without fail which was supposed to happen at the start of my treatment.

I am now happy to say with this clinic it is now under 50 within months which I am so happy about and feel so much better for it. Thank you to Cathy and all her hard work in changing the way appointments and the clinic runs .Also thank you for my treatment you always show empathy and kindness I don't know what I'll do if Cathy ever left the clinic ,as I am a very nervous patient. This clinic needs to stay as it works. Cathy deserves an award in my eyes for all her hard work organising this clinic its brilliant for patients.

thank you again

Good afternoon Columbacm33

What a lovely way to end my day seeing your lovely comments.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experiences of your appointments in the venesection clinic. I am delighted that your blood levels have improved with the easier access to appointments. It has been very rewarding to have been given the opportunity to increase the service offered to patients attending for venesection.

Thank you again

kind regards

Catherine
