"Welcoming Gynaecology Department"

I had a follow up appointment in gynaecology today and it is always a very anxious experience for me. With the current Covid-19 situation I was even more anxious than usual. As soon as I walked into the corridor the nurse knew my name and said hello. Even with the slightly amended protocols in place I felt safe and welcome. My consultant, Dr Cairns was very attentive and listened patiently to all of my concerns. I left the appointment feeling so much better. I have had several appointments but today the staff were especially welcoming. Having the same nurse present at my appointments also makes me feel reassured. Despite the current situation the nurses were warm and caring and even offered to hold my hand. The human contact and empathy made me feel much more at ease today. I just wanted to take time to thank the team.
