"Stroke"

About: Specialist Therapy Services / Community Stroke Team – South Notts

(as the patient),

In August 2019 at 23 I suffered a subarachnoid haemorrhage and a parietal lobe stroke. At the time of my stroke I was working in acute stroke admissions so to find out after I came out of all sedation and recovered from delirium that I myself had a stroke was a big shock! 2 months later I was discharged and knew I would be having some community post stroke rehab, I didn’t expect it to be as fantastic as it was!

Emma, Michelle and Posy were so brilliant and made me feel at such ease with them, I still wasn’t myself at this point and was quite withdrawn but they made me so comfortable. My main goal was to recover enough to return to work and I simply couldn’t have achieved that without them!

Another big warm thank you to all of the team, the work you do is priceless
