"Course at the Recovery College"

About: Inclusion Recovery College Thurrock

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I attended a Recovery College course recently. It really helped to structure my day and helped me to stay focused. It was good to see some familiar faces and to be in the company of others - it was my saviour! It was interesting to learn about the difference between formal & informal mindfulness practice, for example mindfully brushing your teeth. I have been using these skills at home - mindfully listening to the sound of the fridge in my kitchen.

Hi Recovery College Student

Thanks for your feedback regarding the online Creative Mindfulness course we have run in Inclusion Recovery College Thurrock. In these challenging times, it can be difficult to structure our days and it is good to hear that one of our courses helped you with this.

As we are a small team of trainers, it is likely that you will recognise familiar faces and this can help to settle students into new courses with others. Connecting with others and learning together is what we do. It is great to hear that still comes across in the virtual world!

I find mindfully listening to the clock tick for a few minutes, can really help me have a little 'brain break' to help me re-focus with a clearer mind. I'll have a go with the sound of the fridge - its a fantastic idea! Thanks.

Take care,
