"Their policy seems to be to ignore where possible"

I have previously had difficulties with the services of this facility as I have a disability which prevents me from using a telephone and they are not willing to make any accommodations at all for this.

I was supposed to have an assessment regarding my needs for care assistance and wished to be able to answer questions in text format as face to face contact is very confusing for me. I will go months at a time without leaving the house and the only exceptions are when I need to use the shops as a matter of emergency. I do not go to pubs, restaurants or friends houses. I have not been on holiday or had any kind of celebration such as Christmas or a Birthday since 2006. This is important because I want to make it clear how drastically my life is altered due to my disability. If I was asking for them to help me communicate with them without it being face to face and then going and spending time with friends, it would be very different, but I am not able to do anything of the sort. However, the mental health team at Spring House are only interested in their own maximum convenience. Ultimately, a nurse refused to assess me in any way but face to face, no matter how detailed I was in my explanation of the fact that somebody with my disability will not communicate visually in the same manner as other people, so their visual assessment is not only invalid but may be harmful as their interpretation will not be correct. Please note that the staff I am referring to do not have specialist knowledge of my disability and often indicate they have a very poor understanding of it. They most certainly do not care at all. When I am face to face with somebody I am so uncomfortable that I will say anything to get away. I will lie and say I am fine just so I can go home. Ultimately, they are refusing me assessment because of my disability. I sent long and detailed emails explaining my difficulties. They do not even have the good manners to respond.

More recently, a social worker spoke to my mother on the phone about my condition. She then sent me a letter filled with innacuracies. This upsets me because I think it's important the NHS have an accurate understanding of my condition. In fact, I think that is essential.

I emailed the nurse with corrections. Eventually she replied simply to say "I have noted this" but she did not answer my questions, for example where she mentioned a service by acronym that I am not aware of. I asked her for details about the service. Apparently replying to me is beneath her. I feel insulted repeatedly.

I have sent a polite email asking if she can correct the previous letter she sent. She has ignored me for nearly two weeks. I sent another asking if I should send my query elsewhere. I am still being ignored. I think I have a right to correct their erroneous records. The nurse in question is incredibly rude and the lack of professionalism is truly astounding. The apathy and disrespect of these people is stunning.
