I have been a patient who attends Wishaw’s medical day bed unit now for several years. The staff have been great over the years until recently. Since new management have taken over and several new staff members the attitude and light hearted environment has changed. I no longer feel relaxed when attending for my treatment. And find some of the staff extremely rude.
There have been many changes recently due to covid 19 which can be expected but a recent shift in moving the cancer side of the unit to monklands has left us non cancer patients feeling like second class citizens. The unit has been stripped of all TVs, radios and nice touches that made coming for treatment bareable. Why are we as non cancer patients being treated with no dignity and respect. I myself have a long term condition and have had to come to this unit weekly sometimes twice weekly for years. Why am I not as important as a cancer patient? Why do I deserve less and not to be treated comfortably in a safe friendly environment?
