"My recent fall"

About: East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust Grantham & District Hospital / Accident and emergency Lincoln County Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I fell outside my home and broke my femur.   We went to Grantham Hospital (we decided to get me there as there was a four hour plus wait for an ambulance).   I was seen immediately, x-rayed and diagnosed with a broken femur.   I was eventually transferred by ambulance by a wonderful crew, Jules looked after me on the journey.   I arrived at Lincoln County Hospital and was eventually admitted.   I had surgery the following day.

Dear Chota

As a team, we take pride in the service we provide and are always aiming to make improvements. Comments are shared at morning meetings and feedback such as this will certainly help boost morale and remind staff that their hard work and dedication is appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to post feedback and hope you are feeling better. I will also share with the ambulance crews so they are aware of the feedback as well.

Best wishes

Teresa

Update posted by Chota (the patient)

Hi Teresa -

I'm doing pretty well, getting quite speedy on the crutches! I'm so pleased that you can also pass on my thanks to the ambulance crew, everyone is part of the package and although I said thanks to them at the time, I was pretty out of it by that point. Keep up the good work, you guys are totally, totally amazing!

Dear Chota,

Thank you for taking the time to share your kind words with me. I am so pleased to hear you are well on the road to recovery and I'm delighted to hear that our ambulance crews were able to take you over to Lincoln County Hospital.

If you are able, we would appreciate you sharing your comments with our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) team, so that they might identify the crew who cared for you and share your words with them. You may contact them via telephone on 0333 012 4216 or email emas.pals@nhs.net.

Best wishes,

Richard Hunter
