"Disabled car park spaces"

About: Victoria Hospital (Kirkcaldy)

(as a service user),

I tried to use the disabled car parking spaces. The main door was not only full of cars many not displaying and many on the drop off or double yellows. An ambulance was also sitting on a disabled space. I tried parking at the spaces which are located round thenother side past the maternity entrance and the bus stops. One large area is blocked off, not sure if there is any work going on. The sign at the entrance says disabled parking available, the markings on the road say otherwise, I can only assume the area blocked off includes the disabled spaces. At times like these when entrances are restricted its more difficult for disabled people to access it, it would be good if temporary provisions were being made and warnings highlighted when spaces are made unavailable to avoid problems.

I am sorry to hear about the difficulty you had with the disabled parking at the VHK. Unfortunately we are not sure when this occurred as we have recently had serious damage to two of the car parks on the site due to flash flooding and a lightning strike which resulted in us having to shut these off until repairs were carried out.

Hopefully this will not re-occur and our parking is now returned to normal.
