"COVID-19 Testing"

(as a parent/guardian),

My child was sent home from school last week with a temperature and a runny nose, therefore I booked a COVID test for her. 

The whole process was smooth, quick and easy, from the initial booking to getting results. We were booked in on the same day that I requested a test, and were even asked if we would prefer the team to come to the house! 

Once we arrived at the testing centre my little one was immediately put at ease, the nurse introduced herself and had a fantastic manner with us both. She took the time to explain what she was going to do, but in a child friendly way. She explained that it might tickle a bit and make her laugh, therefore instead of a crying child I ended up with a laughing one! 

The staff involved at all stages of the process were excellent, particularly at the testing centre and I wish to thank them for that. As a member of NHS staff I don’t envy them, especially in the wind and rain yet they still carry out their jobs with a smile on their face.

Thank you for sharing this – the Testing Team will be over the moon to receive such positive feedback. I’m glad that the processes they have worked so hard to get right worked well for you and your child, being quick, giving choice and helping everyone feel at ease – all with a smile! I’ve not had to visit the test centre but hearing about your experience has definitely made me feel less apprehensive about what would happen if I did and hopefully anyone else reading your story will do so too.
