"Prostate cancer in the family"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Oncology

(as a service user),

Prostate cancer in the family .

My dad died of it his brothers I’ve had it, And now me where I come from Corby Northamptonshire The only thing I was offered when I was diagnosed was taking my prostate out even though it was contained in the prostate and they caught it early. Problems with Kettering hospital and Northampton hospital, they just didn’t help me.

My uncle told me about the Brachytherapy which I opted for why I went to Lincoln and the speed Lincoln sorted it out for me has helped, I sleep at night it’s not on my mind now I feel like a weight has been taken off my shoulders I can only thank Lincoln County Hospital for what they done for me and how professional they were thank you.

Dear Roy dandy

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience in brachytherapy – we are so proud to be able to offer this service as it is an excellent alternative to surgery and we are one of the few centres in the whole East Midlands that offers this service. So glad that we have been able to your mind at rest and help you at this difficult time.

Regards
