I recently attended the Poswillo cataract suite to have my left eye fixed.
My wife and carer took me , we arrived at the appointed time.
This was the first time the suite had been used for a long period.
It was a bit chaotic to start with because of some equipment problems.
I found out I was the first patient in the suite since it had been reopened.
All i can say is the staff were fantastic considering the problems they had.
I had my operation at about 9:45am and i was back in the suite at about 10:15 to a welcome cup of tea and a biscuit. After I was given my eye drops and told when and how often to use them i was allowed home. They also emailed my regular optometrist all i can say is thank you to all the staff in the suite and operating theatre. They were all fantastic and very caring.
We got home at 12:00 and got a phone call from the optometrist to arrange an appointment in a few weeks to check on my eye. I will also be able to arrange to get a pair of reading glasses. That’s what i call organised.
I have been to the hospital and spent several nights there over the last 18 months and have nothing but praise for all the staff.
Thank you all so very much for looking after me.
"I have nothing but praise for you all."
