I was unlucky to have an accident with a table saw just over a week ago and from the moment I turned up at A&E at the Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy the level of care I received was amazing.
Having spent time in A& E, the x-ray department an overnight stay in ward 33, a longer than expected time in the operating room and a visit to the hand clinic and physiotherapy I have experienced many of the public facing departments in a short period of time. Everyone I have met and that looked after me were so professional yet human in there approach keeping me calm, informed and fully aware of what was going to happen next.
Thank you to all both public facing and behind the scenes and a special thanks to Billy ODP in phase 3 theatres who as well as looking after me at my most worrying time, doing his own job was also undertaking training of a colleague at the same time and it was good to hear how clear and supportive he was of his colleague. He was able to have a joke with me to relax me, do his own work then instantly turn so clear and professional, so his colleague not only knew what to do but why it was getting done and what would be happening next.
Well done to all and thank you all so much.
