I was very worried about getting an endoscopy done. The staff couldn't have been nicer. I phoned the helpline before hand a couple of times to clear up some things before coming in and the nurses were so reassuring. It put my mind at rest that I would be well cared for when I did came in.
The letter clearly stated where to go and when I got there there was hand gel and masks after the security guard cleared me to go in. I arrived and got checked in by the nurse. Everything was clear and well explained as to what was to happen. The nurses were so kind and ensured I was okay. I did have a wait but the nurses kept me up to date as to what was happening.
The doctor explained what was going to happen before I was taken in and then had the procedure. Everything went smoothly and before I knew it I was going home.
I wanted to thank the nurses at the endoscopy suite for their care, the doctors and staff during the procedure. I would also like to thank the hospital who have done a great job at ensuring Covid safety and making the overall procedure from referral, to pre entry literature to exit leaflets so easy. It was well thought out, patient focused and made an experience that could have been very frightening as easy and painless as possible.
"Put my mind at rest and were so reassuring."
