I'm a service user who has been in and out of treatment for the last 25 yrs. I recently came under the care of Change Grow Live, who runs Inspire, our local drug, and alcohol service.
Since the start of Covid 19, in March, CGL has gone to great lengths to ensure that my prescription is still available and that I'm kept a safe as I can be from Covid 19. The staff makes regular contact calls to make sure I'm ok and not in any kind of distress. Obviously groups and keywork sessions have had to stop with the 2-meter rule so what CGL did was to offer groups via Zoom and also phone calls and for those of us that have access to the internet, it's been a lifeline, and not just groups but other activities like quiz nights and social evenings. Even for the ones who do not have access to the internet every effort has been made to keep in contact like giving out "Burner Phones" so staff can call them.
This is me saying a massive thank you to all the staff at CGL for making sure I'm kept safe and that my treatment continued, for turning in for work when I'm sure they had there own worries to contend with.
