"The birth of my daughter"

About: William Harvey Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I was admitted for an induction, everything went as planned and at 8.23am on my little girl was born. I would like to thank the midwife who delivered her. She was absolutely amazing, I couldn’t have asked for a better midwife. She made me feel at ease (even though I may not have seen it) and made me feel like an individual. I’m sure everyone who has her feels the same. So a massive thank you to Fiona.

For medical reasons my daughter had to have observations for at least 24 hours (this was known beforehand). A few hours after giving birth we were transferred over to Folkestone ward. The staff there were absolutely amazing. The midwife who was looking after us came and introduced herself straight away and made sure we were okay. When the staff changed to night the same happened. My little girls obvs we’re done on time as were mine, I was offered pain relief and cups of tea regularly. They were constantly checking in on us and made us feel well looked after, they were there if we needed help with anything, considering how busy the ward was. I can’t praise them enough, they make the nhs what it is.
