I was diagnosed with prostate cancer and underwent robotically assisted surgery at Bristol in January. As a consequence I have erectile dysfunction. I was recommended Caverject injections. He wrote to my GP suggesting he prescribe 8 weeks’ supply which he did. Unfortunately after 4 weeks my GPs pharmacy was unable obtain further supplies. I telephoned Lloyds pharmacy at RCH who confirmed they have stock. I requested, several times over the last 3 weeks, a prescription be sent to Lloyds so that I could collect the drugs. I have contacted a Lloyds today and they still have no prescription for me. RCH has afforded me incomparable care over the last 9 months but it seems there is a complete disconnect in this particular process. Lloyds cannot issue drugs prescribed by an external clinician and my internal clinician has not, for some reason, prescribed the drugs they recommended for me. I wonder how this is supposed to work.
