"Unable to stand the pain any longer"

About: Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital

Had sacroiliac fusion to one side feb 2020,After being reffered to the RJAH for 15 months this being the first procedure with the other side expected within a couple of months,I am well aware of the coronavirus situation but find it impossible to understand the denial of the statement made by the acting chief executive on 5th june 2020.It stated that elective procedures would re start the following week,I ring for information and am told No surgery is planned,I am unable to stand the constant pain or indeed the increased level of morphine being prescribed which seems to do nothing,I was promised not to be back clocked but have no information of even possibly when my treatment will continue "HELP"!!!

I am sorry to hear of the impact that delays in your care have caused.

Over the last few months, many of our clinical staff have been away from our hospital, providing support for critical care services across the region. Those staff are now returning to us as the Covid situation improves, and that will enable us to increase our activity levels compared with recent weeks.

We are managing our waiting lists in line with clinical priority and all relevant national guidelines, however it will take a long time for us to get back to where we want and need to be, as the impact of the pandemic has been severe.

However, if you do wish to discuss your concerns further, please feel free to contact the PALS Department on 01691 404606.
