I suffered a stroke in my bathroom one morning in July 2020. My right arm and leg were affected but not my speech.
I was taken by ambulance to Bradford Royal Infirmary where I had. excellent nursing care and treatment including X-Ray and MRI scans during my eight day stay. I was firstly on stroke ward then intensive care. On the 8th day, I was discharged to home with some necessary equipment provided by the hospital.
From then on, I was seen seen by physiotherapists from Dewsbury Hospital. On the first time, Georgie came to attend to me. The following day, Georgie brought Kath with her. Kath has provided my physiotherapy every weekday since until today, when both came because my recovery had become so complete that they came together to make checks on my movements to confirm my full recovery. How great it is to be in this position after my early fears.
Thank you Kath and Georgie. Kath's visits have been tremendous in showing me what to do to speed my recovery and increase my confidence in doing things again that I had lost the ability to do. Kath came into our house like a friend and her personable manner nevertheless combined with total professionalism; a combination which was very welcome. Thank you everyone was involved in my recovery.
"My rapid recovery following stroke."
