"Fracture arm"

About: Causeway Hospital / Accident & Emergency Causeway Hospital / X-Ray Department

(as a service user),

I had a fall in July 2020 and fractured my arm . I attended Causeway Hospital at 10.30pm and I feel I had to tell you of my excellent care and experience .

I was taken aback that the diagnosis and treatment was performed so quickly and efficiently  as I fully expected to be waiting at least 4 hours when I first arrived at the ED . All the staff I had contact with were friendly and kept me informed of all my treatment  from reception, triage ,X-ray and having my arm put into plaster .

I cannot praise the staff enough , the receptionist, porter, nurses in ED &  X-ray and in particular the amazing friendly doctor who took the time to show me my X-ray on a monitor and explain it to me in detail. His bedside manner was the best I have ever experienced , he put me at ease throughout my treatment and explained everything as he went along .

I suffered a broken elbow in  Spain a number of years ago and the bad experience I had there makes me realise how very lucky we are to have the NHS !
