"Mistreating patient"

About: Royal Stoke University Hospital

My partner had a operation to remove a cyst from her ovary. Following this operating she has been in a lot of pain and finds it really hard to pass urine.

She can’t stand for a long period of time.

She visited A&E to be checked out, she asked for some pain relief which they refused. She was also made to stand in the waiting room while the waiting time was 4 hours.

I know COVID-19 is effecting life at this moment in time, but the nurses/doctors or reception staff should still be more considerate when someone is in need of help.

Due to them making my partner stand and refused pain relief, she came home so she could be comfy and take the pain relief she has at home.

Then as I am her next of kin I received a call from a&e to ask where she was, and I was not happy with how I was spoke to, they were very rude and short with me.

I don’t recommend this hospital to anyone.

I am so sorry to hear that your partner had such a poor experience in our Emergency Department during this visit. I have shared your feedback with the team for discussion and learning. I hope she is now feeling much better.

Kind Regards
