"Stobhill Minor Injuries"

About: New Stobhill Hospital / Minor Injuries Unit

(as a relative),

My partner came in following doing the west highland way with feelings of ligament damage to ankles and/or feet. Although taken quickly, the nurse did not even look at his foot/request to take his shoes or socks off/did not feel/move his feet. My partner was challenged by the nurse who asked “what do you want me to do about it” and was told to “just take paracetamol”.

As a nurse myself, I find this highly unprofessional, un compassionate and terrible service. I do hope no one else is treated in this manner.

I understand myself how challenging work can be, especially in these circumstances, however I find this unacceptable and the nurse in question needs to be challenged about this.

Dear EK10,

I was sorry to hear of your partner's recent experience within the Stobhill minor injuries unit. It would be helpful if you were able to confirm further details with me and in particular the date and time of your partner's presentation to the Unit.

Thank you for taking the time to highlight your concerns with us.

Your sincerely,

John Stuart

Chief Nurse.
