I had blood test at my GP and it was found that I had too much potassium in my blood. I was then taken from my home to Pilgrim Hospital. Once there I was put into a ward. The treatment started immediately. I was on a drip and fluids were pumped into me. It took a lot of bags on the drip to flush out the toxins I think it was about 15 per day, and after several days I started to feel a lot better.
It turned out, that I had severe kidney disease and was very close to meeting the man in the sky! I had scans etc and s PET scan, which was clear. So I was elated when given that information. A few days later I was allowed home. I had been in Hospital for 6 weeks and 2 days. I'm glad I allowed the doctor's to do whatever they thought was necessary. I thank all of the nurses and HCA staff, they couldn't do enough for all of the patients, nothing was too much trouble. I also thank the doctors and consultants.
