"True healers"

I have experienced the best and worst of Yeovil Hospital.  The worst was in A & E, several times, when there were more patients than the staff could be expected to cope with.  The best was in The Frailty Unit both in the past and recently, where my treatment couldn`t have been bettered were I a queen.

I had a thorough health assessment.  I saw experienced nurses, a doctor, a consultant, all to myself, in private and comfortable conditions.  They all LISTENED TO ME.  They HEARD WHAT I SAID.  They reacted to what I told them in a cheerful and confident manner.  I didn`t feel rushed.

I still have health problems but since that visit my mood has risen, even though I have suffered clinical depression for most of my life.   The lesson is that the atmosphere in that clinic did as much - even more - to heal my mind, as any physical intervention might do to heal my body.  The staff in that room, each individual, were true healers.
