"Amazing support at A&E"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Accident & Emergency

(as the patient),

I arrived to A&E with a fairly simple (but unpleasant) UTI. I had been diagnosed with cancer not long before though, so I was very upset and frustrated. Even if the receptionists seemed not too interested in any of the patients in the waiting area, the doctors and nurses definitely went the extra mile with me. Literally offered a shoulder to cry on and gave me plenty of support and advice (other than the procedure itself) while being very quick and practical.

If there is a better way to let them know how important that was to me, please let me know! THANK YOU

Dear Italian Girl

Thanks for telling us about your hospital visit.

I am very sorry to hear about your cancer diagnosis and I can appreciate that you were very upset and frustrated. I am glad to hear that the doctors and nurses went the ‘extra mile’ with you and that you were given plenty of support and advice. I am sure they will appreciate such positive feedback.

However, I am disappointed to hear that the receptionists did not seem interested in the patients and I will share this with the Management Team

I hope you are feeling better.

Take Care

Nicole
