I was given an urgent referral appointment quite correctly within two weeks of my appointment with my GP with the full knowledge that I'm due to go on holiday to Devon the following week. Sure enough, the appointment arrived for the middle of my week away. I knew that, having committed to the appointment, I would just have to drive back to Wycombe from Devon for the appointment and then drive back to Devon to join my family holiday.
I thought it was at least worth trying to get an appointment for after my return so called the number on the letter and spoke to a lovely lady called Sharon. Sharon could not have done enough to help and, had she not been able to change the appointment, I would still have written to compliment her service to me for going out of her way to help as it wasn't particularly straight forward. The outcome, after some effort on her part, is that she was able to get agreement for a date the following week which means that I don't now have the prospect of a 10 hour round drive and don't miss out on my family (some of whom I haven't seen since January). Please pass on my grateful thanks to Sharon and tell her how much her efforts have meant. Thank you Sharon - you're a star!
