After years of very difficult times including suicide attempts , getting help and support after receiving a diagnosis of a mood disorder , not being able to access DAS due too the diagnosis and not being able too receive the help I needed from the Mental Health Team i gave up , after being persuaded by friends and family to try again I agreed after working extremely hard to deal with alcohol addiction and a mood disorder I got sober nearly 2yrs now and was still struggling with mood swings and trauma , when I agreed to go back to try to get support the assessments went well and I agreed to try medication (which I really didn’t want ) with the understanding of being referred for psychological therapy , I was told the waiting list would be longer than a year so I have waited and today decided to contact the team to see how long the list currently was , during the phone call I was informed that my referral was rejected as I didn’t meet the criteria! I have in 1yr and 1month never received any correspondence to inform me that this was the situation and this is a very long time , I left it longer due to the covid 19 crisis thinking the team would be overwhelmed , I am extremely angry and upset by this and yet again feel let down by this service after working so hard and putting my trust in the service again after being let down on previous occasions .
I find the service unprofessional , judgemental and non empathetic , they seem happy to palm you off with medication and send you on your way , not surprised of the poor review received by CQC this complaint could go on and on but it’s personal so I will leave it there . I truly hope that this get heard so that others don’t have to struggle the same way .
"Shocking"
