My Partner has just given birth at Southmead hospital. Unfortunately our birthing plan went a wee out the window due to some complications with our little one. The team in the Central Delivery Suite were amazing, kind, loving and empathetic. They tried their best to accommodate our every wish and made us feel included in the whole process even when things were getting a bit complex. We hadn’t planned to give birth in the Central Delivery suite, but we’re so glad we did. It was a crazy but amazing experience that was only made possible due to the lovely staff, in particular Sam and Pearl that looked after us for nearly 24 hours in total. The NHS is a amazing idea, but it is made special by its staff, these staff. It’s even crazier to think they could be this good during a pandemic and under the pressure they have sustained for the last 5 months. Thank you to the Central Delivery suite team you are our hero’s.
"National hero service. "
