Came here for an operation in the morning 8am only to be told that the instruments needed for my operation have not arrived. I waited since 8am when my procedure was scheduled for. By the time the instruments arrived and they took me to theatre to have my procedure it was nearly 3pm. Before the instruments arrived, I was given the option of having a different procedure, putting a temporary stent in me, without doing the procedure I came for, which I was told would only be a temporary solution to the problem. The other option was to wait for the instruments to be delivered and have the operation I came to have, the same operation I was told I would be having during my pre opp at the Churchill which meant I would have to go home without any procedure if the instruments did not arrive by 4pm. I refused the temporary solution and long story short, I am now urinating blood after they Did a completely different operation to what I was told before I went to the Horton. They did not even attempt the procedure I was supposed to have after I told them that’s the only solution I would like to have. I always wondered why people I knew were refusing to go there and were fighting to get an operation at the Churchill or JR instead. Now I think I know. Avoid at all costs. Definitely making a complaint!
