"Don't Care for the well being of children"

About: Dr S M Chen & Partner

Our child has a fungal rash all over his body we only know it is a fungal rash because we had to take him to a walk in center because all the doctors want to do is telephone conversations and assumptions over the phone we had one of these over 2 weeks ago with the gp and he said it was probably eczema or a viral infection and to give them a call back a week later. We did this and got treated the same way we did from the previous phone call saying they will get the doc to call, the rash had grown and got worse all over his body by now and i couldn't wait any longer for treatment so i took him to a drop in center to be seen to where i drove to the other side of Leeds for them to see him i got there and he was seen by a doctor who diagnosed him within minutes saying he needed cream and shampoo, the doctor also said that our doctors should of seen him as he is a child with a massive rash all over his body and they can not diagnose this stuff over a phone, Anyway i was happy now because he was getting the treatment he needed, the only thing is we didn't get prescribed enough cream to last a week so i got in touch with pharmacy they told me to ring docs, i phoned docs they told me to ring pharmacy, am getting confussed now because no one at gables surgery or pharmacy seem to know what to do because of the conflicting answers, we finally came up with an answer where i had to request more cream from there online portal, i did this phoned them back the receptionist said she had sent it through so i thought great i will get a phone call later to go pick it up from pharmacy. I didn't get one in fact i phoned them back 3 hours from requesting it and i got told the doctor needs to speak to us so he will ring us in the morning, my fear is now that it will come back over night and we will be back to square one, seems like a whole lot of trouble this to fix a Childs health don't you think. This practice seems to be sweeping things under the carpet and blaming coronavirus for the inconvenience but it wasn't an inconvenience for a walk in center to look at him at the other side of Leeds. Very poor care in this instance. I also don't understand why the doctor needs to phone us back when you can buy this certain cream over the counter, i wouldn't be asking for it if he didn't need it, i can see my child a whole lot better than a doctor can over the phone.

I am sorry that you have recently had a bad experience at the surgery. In order for us to investigate and address the problems you have faced. Can you please get in touch with the surgery so that the Practice Manager can arrange to speak to you. Thank you.
